I got my start making music in 1997 as an emcee when my friends and I started the rap group, Elemnop. We opened for acts like The Roots, Method Man, Lupe Fiasco, The Clipse, and many more. It wasn't until 2000 that I got my hands on my first digital audio workstation (DAW) and started producing beats for the homies. I started as a loop based producer on ACID Pro, which gracefully transitioned to chopping up samples in the program and making soulful beats inspired by Dilla, Kanye West, Pete Rock and more.
Fast forward, I opened my first recording studio in 2007 and started working with many local artist in the Bay Area. I produced records for San Quinn, The Jacka, Zion I, Mistah Fab, Nio Tha Gift, IAMSU, Berner and more.
I closed my studio in 2013 and moved to the East Bay to pursue a career in video production. I absolutely have no regrets putting music on the back burner and making video production my priority. It taught me a lot about balance, patience, business and perseverance. So, after a 6 year musical hiatus, purchasing my first home, marriage and 3 kids later; my passion for music and hip hop finally found it's way back into my schedule.
It's 2020 now and I can produce music and videos. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I just want to inspire more people to do more of the things that inspire them. Yee!
